I am new to Neopets, where do I go to learn how to play and follow the rules?
Go here, and here, before you inadvertently do something that could jeopardize your account and pets! The first thing you should do is make sure you understand the rules, as they are there to make the game safe and fair for everyone. After that, check out some well known Neopets help sites for game help. Use a search engine like Google to find them, but be sure to only visit ones that have paid for their own URL, not freebie sites (free sites are where scammers tend to set up scam sites!). We have quite a lot of information here on Spankys, so check around here first!
Who exactly are Adam and Donna? I keep hearing their names everywhere!
Who are they? Well, we can start by saying that if it weren’t for them, there would be no Neopets! And had they not sold Neopets to a man with a knack for marketing named Doug Dohring, Neopets would not be here today. Within 3-4 months he had turned a profit, and Neopets was well on its way to being one of the top websites of all time. Oh yes, there are people who don’t like the commercialization, but those people also don’t say how Neopets would be able to pay for the workforce and computers and servers that keep Neopets afloat!
Adam Powell and Donna Williams were college students in 1999 in England when they created Neopets to amuse themselves and friends. Adam had the programming knowledge, and Donna developed the characters and ideas. It quickly caught on, and grew rapidly. Since the site was growing too large for a couple of college students to handle, they sold Neopets, but still retain creative control and are the driving force behind it. They have since become known worldwide by people of all ages. Why? Well, these two crazy kids created something that brings happiness and excitement to people! What would we do without Neopets? What would we do without Adam and Donna, and all their jokes and fun?

What is TNT?
TNT is short for ‘The Neopets Team’. This is the entire staff of human beings (or so we’re led to believe!) that keep Neopets running.
There is a glitch that lets you get items/np over and over! They can’t freeze ALL of us, right?
WRONG! You can get frozen for abusing a glitch on Neopets! Just because you think everyone else is doing it does not make it alright. If you value your account(s) do NOT abuse a glitch. Neopets will freeze ALL accounts on your IP without mercy. They have done so in the past and will most assuredly do it again!
Oh no! My shop/petpets/xxxx disappeared! What do I do?
It is most likely temporary. Sometimes Neopets upgrades their servers and moves bits and pieces of the database around, then restores it later. Check the main NeoBoards and see if there are a lot of posts about what you are experiencing to make sure you aren’t the only one. If you are the only one it is happening to, go change your password IMMEDIATELY. If, after a day or two, your items are not back, send a bug report to Neopets.
Neopets is down for maintenance! No! Why!?!
Most often it is only momentary. Just refresh and it should be back. If it doesn’t come back within a couple of minutes, you could be in for a long wait, so come join our chatroom or forum! Occasionally Neopets adds new servers to make the site run faster, and this is usually the reason for downtime. On the very rare occasion they are experiencing some technical difficulties. Only a handful of times has this caused Neopets.com to be down for several hours or even a couple of days. But never worry, your account is always safe! A great way to kill time while you wait is to check out our ‘Things to do When Neo is Down’ page in the ‘Links’ section.
Do any of those programs or scams or chain letters work?
No, sorry, there is absolutely no way to get rich quick on Neopets. With some hard work and dedication you can achieve most anything you want to, though! The rest of us work hard for what we have, why should you be any different? Oh, and doing any of these things can and will get you frozen sooner or later when some good citizen reports you.
