  1. Hi guys :D

I've recently started getting interested in the side effects (good or bad) that you may experience from reading certain books to your pet.

The ones I know of are:

Mummified Scroll - increases hitpoints by 1-3 and decreases movement by 1-3
Vengeful Scroll - will turn your pet into a Pink Lenny

If you have any corrections to this, or know of any other books that result in side effects please post here.

  5. Well, I've been doing some more researching into this:

Scroll of a Warrior - makes your pet stronger (exactly how much I don't know probably 1-3 sp)

Scroll of the Ancients - makes your pet stronger (exactly how much I don't know probably 1-3 sp); Description: This scroll can make your Neopet smarter and stronger, at a cost...

Scroll of Hunger - makes your pet faster (exactly how much I don't know probably 1-3 mp) and hungry; Description: This inscribed parchment contains a spell to make your Neopet move faster, but makes them ravishingly hungry at the same time.

thx to __andraste__ who pointed me towards Scroll of a warrior  . __andraste__ also remembers his pet getting sick from reading a book or scroll - if you know which one it might be, please post here!

  6. Of course I can't remember any specifics, but I think that the different 'Cursed' scrolls and books make your pets. I seem to remember that happening to someone I know. But that could have been a dream

  7. Seem that reading 'You Will Get Verrucas!' gives your pet the disease 'Floppy Tongue'. If you read it to your pet and it got a different disease, please post it here!
    ------
UGGGH! - Yup, it backfired! Yasmina1980 tongue has become all swollen and floppy. :(
Yasmina1980 says 'This is great... buy me more books!!!'
You Will Get Verrucas! vanishes in a puff of red smoke!

I will continue my research :D

  8. UGGGH! - Yup, it backfired! __Andraste__ fur is turning purple. :(
__Andraste__ says 'Wow! That was very interesting!'
Curse of Ultimate Malison vanishes in a puff of yellow smoke!

  9. Done another test on Yasmina1980

You aren't feeling very good, but strangly you feel a little stronger by reading from the Scroll of Hunger!!!
Yasmina1980 says 'How many books are in Neopia? I want to read them all!'
Scroll of Hunger vanishes in a puff of green smoke!

It seems it does NOT make your pet hungry - my pet was fully bloated before he ate, and is now fully bloated afterwards

  10. Update on Scroll of the Ancients.

Read it to my pet this morning and it increased it's strength by 2p and it's movement by 2p, probably it's 1-3p for each and I got lucky :D

Remember to post here if you come across any other side effects from books that have not been mentioned here...

Wow, poor _Andraste_. I'm so new to books and had no idea that some had special effects after you've read them. I'm going to try a few scrolls in a few days. But I'm sorry to hear about your pet, I hope it gets better _andraste_. :(
