I have been digging around trying to get some more information on the new range of Neopets merchandise. Especially to find out when/if anyone outside the US will get to see it.
In the last hour I have spoken to the Overseas Commerical Director at Jakks Pacific and this is what he told me....
There will be 3 more releases in the US in this year. In fact if all goes to plan there will be a new collection of plushies every 3 months. They are very much aiming this as a collectable product rather than just a toy.
The product will not be available outside the US until Spring 2009! This is because Neopets say there is not yet a big enough demand in places like Canada and the UK! He advises people to contact their countries Nickelodeon with emails asking when it will be out in your country as that is the best way to make them know you want them!
Finally he said that the virtual codes will be on all future planned products and books are very much on the list. So expect more fun and games trying to discover them all in the future!!
Any more news I will post here. Especially if I can manage to get some stock from them for sale in the UK as an official reseller which they are considering.
