Medicine too expensive -- suggestions?

  1. My neopet is sick, and according to the hospital requires Cactopus Cream. I spent about 15 minutes with the shop wizard, and another half hour or so combing through the malls and shops, and periodically re-checking the Neopian Pharmacy, but couldn't locate it! Finally I checked the auction house. There was my cure -- for 100,000+ NP.

This is over half my savings, and I want to cure my neopet, but I cannot believe that medicine, of all things, would be so expensive! How do people cure their pets?? Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions? I would part with the NP (it's not even real money) but I tend to build NP rather slowly, and on top of that I was saving for a paintbrush :( ...it seems like everything in Neopia is horribly expensive...

Again, if anyone knows how to acquire Cactopus Cream cheaply (I'm perfectly willing to part with up 50,000 NP), let me know.

It's not worth spending any np on a cure, just use the Healing Springs and the faerie there will cure your pet (though it can take a few tries, it's completely free).

  4. I have heard if you go to this link: http://www.neopets.com/faerieland/tdmbgpop.phtml
The Discarded Magical Blue Grundo Plushie of Prosperity before you go to the healing springs: http://www.neopets.com/faerieland/springs.phtml
that your chances are better of having the illness cured.
I haven't tried it yet... I paid for the Cactopus Cream through the TP and it was around 100K which really hurt the book fund before I heard of this idea.

    Another possibility:
Sometimes you get healed by the faerie at the wheel of excitement (which costs 150 NP)

  6. I've found that the Wheel of Excitement tends to give less good results when your active pet isn't well or is unhappy. My sympathy, Laliath, over your pet having Reptilliorus; Hubrid Nox inflicted it on all 4 of my pets simultaneously last week, but the faerie at the healing springs cured them after about 3 or 4 visits. So just keep visiting her until she heals your pets for you.

I found that my pets were unhappy, even after she had healed them, so I had to play with them. It might be an idea to check if your sick pet is still unhappy after it is cured

  7. Tallis_too just got reptilliorus from playing Qasalan Expel. It took 3 trips to the grundo plushie and the healing spring, but her health is completely restored. :)
