Step Two - Adding your nickname

Under File (top tool bar) click OPTIONS. That will bring up the following window. Press the the little + in the box for it to bring you to a list of options.

Step Three - Connecting to server

Click the Server text. That will bring you to a new section. Click the button that says Add and type the following information:

Description: irc.esper.net
IRC Server: irc.esper.net
Port: 6667
Group: #spankyschat

There is no need for a password.

Click the Add button to add this server.

Step Four - Setting preferences

You can also make mIRC perform certain tasks when you join. For instance, I have mIRC recognize my password so I don't have to type it in every time. You can do this by clicking the text that says Options. This will bring you to a new section, when you are there click the Perform button.

Once you've clicked the Perform button a box will popup. Fill in the same information which is in the above image and make sure you have the "Enable perform on connect" section checked. Once you've filled this out correctly click the Ok button.

Step Five - Finalizing

Once you've done everything we have said so far click the Ok button.

Step Six - Chatting

Since this server holds so many chat rooms, the easiest way to get into the chat room is by typing /join #spankyschat.
