Easy as upgrading Wordpress software is, it sometimes gives us the hiccups. Commenting has broken, but as it’s midnight here the issue will have to wait until tomorrow evening.

Edit: Oh my, either I need coffee or sleep. Problem solved. Our spam filters had a little spat but I’ve forced them to hug and make up and all is right with the world.

A recent scientific study determined that Muppets, much like Dr. Sloth, feed on little hearts of love. Therefore our rules have been upgraded to reflect this new understanding. Huzzah! If you’d care to pop into the GuildHQ section of the website, you may read the new rules (which may undergo a teency bit of further tweaking, but is pretty much set).

Our petpage is also getting a makeover to mirror the changes on our website and will be moved to the SpankysBookWorld account. But not just yet, the Muppets are still building it. ;P

The theme switcher we’ve had in the sidebar is going to be removed (already removed from our main bland theme). Yada yada, that’s why. ;P (it has to do with site managment, the site is larger than the plugin was designed for )

If you are using the Baby Boy theme, you will still see the theme switcher for now. Please use the dropdown menu to switch your theme back to Spankys.

Should you fail to do so, in a few weeks the website will appear to you to be broken. Just clear your browser cache and you will be able to see the website again, this time with our base theme.

See? We had a website member purge for a great reason!
New forums!!!!!

Our new forum runs on bbPress software developed by the same people who created the Wordpress software our entire website runs on. This will make it possible to fully integrate the forums with our website now; user login included! Now when you login to the website, you will be automatically logged into to the forums and vice versa.

Come on in and try it out! If you aren’t already registered here at Spanky’s (your old forum registration is not valid for this), you need to register. Either register here on the main site, or click the Register link on the forums.

(follow the instructions and use your Neopets username, it’s easier for us to manage our user list and keeps random people from wandering around possibly trying to scam our members)

For a number of reasons, our member list needed cleaning up. People who had never posted were deleted, as the only reason to sign up is so you can post comments. Users who registered within the last 8 months or so were left untouched, and we’ll likely purge again every few months. If you go to log in and it says you don’t exist, simply register again.

We are a small guild community, and it’s much easier to run things here when 99% of the users aren’t anonymous. Registering now will require use of your Neopets username and any active users are expected to list their user lookup URL as their website.

As always, non guild members are perfectly welcome to join us.

This only pertains to website registration and has absolutely nothing to do with book database registration.

For various reasons we ask that anyone who registers with the WordPress* section of this site register with their Neopets username, and if you begin to post to please edit your profile to include a link to your userlookup instead of a dubious website. The only reason you need to be registered is if you wish to comment on our news posts. The registration form has been updated to reflect this. You may always edit your display name later to include your name, i.e. Fran (qbureau).

Our subscriber list is overflowing with people who have never posted a single comment and names that are not Neopets usernames. Let’s face it; if someone registers the name ‘aaa’ and makes a post three years after registering, nobody will know who they are or have anything to connect them to.

This is not meant to get rid of anyone, merely to clean house. If your name is deleted by accident, please reregister.

*WordPress is the software this entire site runs on, apart from the book database. When you register on the WordPress screen your information is only going to this website, www.spankaroonietwo.com. This homepage is our newsfeed and registering simply allows you to comment on these posts; nothing more, nothing less.

I’m testing out a different forum system and need people to come sign up and goof around on it. Then I can test some functions and get an idea for how well it might work for us.

It’s made by the people that make Wordpress, the software we run our site on. It’s clean and simple, and we can easily style it to match our website. It should be much easier to track posts that interest you, and keep important topics visible instead of being hidden within sections you never visit.

Anyhow, keep using our regular forum as usual, but come horse around in our test forum if you’d like to help me out.

Surprise! A nifty section for newer readers has just gone up on the website! See if you can find it in the Book Info section.

A theme switcher has been in the works, you may have seen it in its testing mode at the bottom of the sidebar. It will now reside at the top where you can access it easily.

You can view the website in whatever theme strikes your fancy. The site will remember which theme you chose until you clear your cache, and revert back to the main style set by admin. As of now we only have two themes, but more will be on their way.

Sweets (kougra_sweets_14) helped me design this new baby layout to surprise Sandra (smlwieber) since she just had her baby boy!

(use the theme switcher in the sidebar to change the design back to the normal tan)
